KIM JONG UN unanimously elected as secretary of Workers' Party of Korea

Kim Jong Un, the North Korean Supreme Leader has been elected as Secretary of the Party by the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) on the sixth day of Party Congress. 

"Eight Congress of the party unanimously elected  Kim Jong Un as the General Secretary of the party with the consensus of all the delegates, the Party members and the People's Army.", North Korean state media, KCNA writes.

The meeting was followed by the plenary meeting, which elected the Central Committee, including the Polit-Bureau of the party.  

According to KCNA Kim Jong Un as the Party's general secretary in the plenary meeting "noted that it is necessary to newly establish the discipline and supervision system in order to establish strong discipline within the Party to strictly implement the rules and policies of the Party and to root out abuse of power, bureaucratic practices, irregularities, and corruption." 

The theme of the party meeting has been mostly about protecting 'Socialism with Korean Characteristics' also known as the Juche and handling the country in adverse times.

"The General Assembly has increased the authority of the party's central inspection committee and specialized in supervision and investigation activities to strengthen discipline within the party, and has set up an executive department as a mechanical measure to guarantee its realization", writes KCNA.

According to the state-media the party's meeting is to be resumed on the seventh day.
