Breaking: Indonesia plane goes missing 4 minutes after take off

Sriwijaya Air plane disappears after 4 minutes of take-off.

Flight SJ182 mysteriously lost contact with radars shortly after its takeoff. The Boeing 737 plane lost more than 10,000 feet of altitude within a minute, flight tracker website FlightRadar24 reported.

A Sriwijaya Air plane lost contact after about 4 minutes of takeoff from the Indonesian capital of Jakarta on Saturday.

The flight tracker showed that the flight-path of flight SJ182 ending off the coast just north of Jakarta after it lost altitude.

However, not much information is yet to come out regarding the incident but here's what we know so far:

-  There were 59 passengers, including five children and a baby, as per the reports from the Indonesian newspaper Republika.

-  The plane took off from Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

- It was heading to Pontianak, the provincial capital of West Kalimantan.

-  The plane was a Boeing 737-500.

- The plane lost more than 10,000 feet of altitude in less than a minute, according to flight-tracking website FlightRadar24.
