Florida man arrested for using fire extinguisher to dry himself off.

David Mann aged 54, was arrested on Tuesday night by Florida State University police for spraying fire extinguisher on himself when he was not on fire.

Florida State University Police arrested a 54 years old man for spraying a fire extinguisher on himself when he was not on fire. Police found David Mann, on the top floor of the university's West Call Street parking garage Tuesday night with a fire extinguisher and extinguisher powder on him.

Mann said in court records that he stays at a local shelter, The Kearney Center, and is unemployed.

According to the arresting officer, he said that he had been drinking the night before, and then fallen asleep, and he had fallen in the water after he woke up. He used fire extinguisher to dry himself off.

Police say he got the device from a box in the parking garage.

According to the Florida law, using a fire extinguisher other than putting out fire is an third-degree felony and is punishable by upto 5 years in prision, 

 Mann is currently being hold on $1,000 bond at the Leon County jail.
