The United States Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris on Wednesday slammed Donald Trump and said that "America is crying out for leadership,” to overcome a triple crisis of health, racial injustice, and a ravaged economy.

Both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris hit Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic and the economy and termed Trump as “a president who cares more about himself than the people who elected him."

Kamala also recounts her friendship with Biden’s late son Beau and praised Biden for his “empathy and compassion.”

The daughter of Indian and Jamaican immigrants, Kamala Harris, to the United States sought to tap into the nationwide upheaval over police violence and racial disparities.

In the speech Biden also spoke of why he chose Harris as his partner, saying that she was a tough and experienced legislator who is "ready to do this job on Day 1."

The US leads the world with more than 5 million coronavirus cases "because of Trump's failure to take it seriously from the start," Harris said.

"His refusal to get testing up to and running, his flip-flopping on social distancing and wearing masks. His delusional belief that he knows better than the experts. All of that is a reason and the reason that an American dies of Covid-19 every 80 seconds," she added.
