Bollywood choreographer : Saroj Khan dies aged 71

MUMBAI: Bollywood most prominent choreographer Saroj Khan died of a heart attack on Friday. She was admitted to hospital last month after she complained of breathlessness and was rushed to Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra, Mumbai. According to Indian media, 71-year-old Khan died of cardiac arrest.

Her corona was tested negative a few days ago. Her career took off in the late 1980s. Saroj has choreographed about 2,000 films. She taught dance to most of the Bollywood actresses including Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit. She last choreographed Kangana Ranaut's songs 'Manikarnika' and 'Kalank'.

Saroj has been choreographing in Bollywood for 40 years. Saroj first started choreography in 1974 with 'Gita Mera Naam'. So far, she has won three national awards.

Actor Akshay Kumar tweeted on Khan's demise, 'I woke up with sad news. Legendary choreographer Saroj Khan is no more. He made it easy for everyone to dance. This is a big loss for the Bollywood industry. May his soul rest in peace. '
