India: FIR has been registered against Guru Ramdev, Pantanjali CEO and four others for claiming COVID-19 drug

FIR has been registered against yoga guru Ramdev, Patanjali Ayurved Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Acharya Balkrishna, and four others in Jaipur, India, for claiming to have developed a COVID-19 drug called ‘coronil’.

An FIR was filed the day after Patanjali Ayurved launched the "Coronil" medicine.

The launch of the drug Coronil by yoga guru Ramdev on Tuesday triggered a debate after which the Ayush Ministry sought all information on its trial and put a ban on advertising it as a drug to cure coronavirus.

India Today TV has reported about the news confirmed by Jyoti Nagar Police Station SHO Sudhir Kumar Upadhyay, he said, "Yes, an FIR has been registered against Baba Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishna, Balbir Singh Tomar, Anurag Tomar and one scientist, Anurag Varshney, of Patanjali.
