The officially confirmed coronavirus cases have risen to more than five million. On Wednesday, the cases stood at 5,016,742, according to Johns Hopkins University.
So far, the virus has killed 325,556 people worldwide. Coronavirus cases, first reported in China in December last year, peaked in mid-March.
The virus is currently affecting 213 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
The United States has recorded the most deaths at 93,594. It is followed by UK with 35,341, Italy with 32,169, France with 28,022, Spain with 27,778 and Brazil with 17,983.
