The embassy of Nepal in the kingdom of Spain, on the occasion of the Constitution day of the federal democratic republic of Nepal, hosted a grand reception in Madrid on September 19.
Her excellency Dr. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, ambassador of Nepal to Spain, and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), European Union and Cooperation (MAEC), United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), ambassadors, consuls general, representatives of diplomatic and consular corps in Madrid, Nepali diaspora, and dignitaries from sports, business, art and media house in Spain along with 150 other guests attended the reception.
H.E. Dhakal reflected on the outstanding bilateral relations between Nepal and Spain and expressed her desire to further develop the ties between the two nations during her term, with a particular emphasis on trade, tourism, sports, education, agriculture, and culture.
She complimented the Government of Spain for being one of the first European countries to give in-kind humanitarian assistance to Nepal during the COVID-19 crisis.
The embassy focused on promoting Nepal's tourism and culture, with Nepali handicraft products being displayed at the entrance, and Nepali cuisines being served at the event.
