Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Bashar Jaafari declared on Sunday that his country regards Iran as a strategic partner and ally, and regional developments have proved the strength of relations between the two countries.
Syrian-Iranian ties have altered the logic of international relations and the concept of political geography, as we are united by a true alliance in which we are proud, said the deputy foreign minister during remarks at an event in Damascus commemorating the 43rd anniversary of Iran's victory over the Islamic Revolution.
The ambassador guaranteed that people in this region since 2011 have demonstrated the accurate historical reading of the founders of relations as well as their reliability.
According to Jaafari, Damascus values Iran's economic, political, and military assistance to Syria in its fight against conspiracies against its integrity, culture, and civilization.
He also evaluated Iran's responsible position in the international community as a country that upholds the United Nations Charter and the foundations of international law and contributes to opposing imperialist nations' abuses and excesses.
