It has been complete chaos in Kazakhstan as the fuel prices went surging in the Eurasian country despite having its own oil reserves.

According to the Russian State News Agency TASS, the presidential palace and the city hall building in Almaty had been on fire after the angry protestors moved in.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev promised to not leave the capital city under any circumstances.

He also declared a state of emergency in the Mangistau and Almaty regions and also in Almaty and Nur-Sultan for two weeks. 

Following the utter chaos, He also dismissed the country's government.

Mobile connections and Internet connections in the city of Almaty have been in blackout time and again. According to TASS, the internet does not work in Kazakstan at all.

The Websites of government authorities and mass media of the country are out of reach,

President Tokayev has imposed a curfew in the country’s largest city of Almaty and the southwestern Mangistau Province, according to a presidential decree released on Wednesday.

The curfew will be in place from 23:00 to 7:00 local time, as long as the previously declared state of emergency in those areas remains in force, TASS cited the decree.

The decree bans all public  events including peaceful rallies.

The president also ordered to temporarily seize weapons and ammunition from individuals and legal entities in Almaty and the Mangistau Region, and prohibit their sales. He also imposed restrictions on the sales of alcohol.
