A British police officer admitted to killing a 33-year-old woman as she walked home from a friend's house in south London on Friday.
Wayne Couzens previously confessed to abducting and rapping Sarah Everard, a marketing professional who vanished on March 3. Couzens pleaded guilty to murder during a hearing at London's Central Criminal Court, where he appeared via video link from the Belmarsh high-security jail.
Following Everhard's disappearance, a comprehensive police investigation was begun. A week later, her body was discovered in the countryside more than 50 miles southeast of London.
