Police stated early Sunday that two people were killed and more than 20 were injured in a shooting outside a billiards club in Hialeah, a suburb north of Miami, Florida.
In a tweet, Miami-Dade Police Director Alfredo Ramirez III wrote, "I am at the site of another targeted and cowardly act of gun violence, where over 20 people were shot and two have regrettably died."
According to CNN, three people got out of a white Nissan Pathfinder with assault rifles and handguns and started shooting into the throng assembled for music at the venue.
According to CNN, roughly 20 to 25 people were hurt, and they were rushed to a variety of hospitals in the area.
According to CBS4 Miami, the incident occurred early Sunday morning, and at least one of those injured was placed in severe condition. According to CBS4 Miami, no one was in custody as of early Sunday.
The mass shooting in Florida is one of several that have occurred in the United States in recent weeks. According to the Gun Violence Archive report, a non-profit research group, there were at least 200 mass shootings in the United States in the first 132 days of this year.
