Two days after a disturbance in North Ayrshire, a teenager died in hospital.
Daryll Wright was admitted to the hospital after a disturbance in Kilwinning on Saturday around 02:30.
On Monday, the 19-year-old from Coatbridge died at Kilmarnock's Crosshouse Hospital.
An attempted murder charge has been filed against a 17-year-old man. He entered no plea and was remanded in custody at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.
More police patrols will be deployed in the area where the disturbance occurred, which is a lane at the back of Ladyford Avenue, according to Det Ch Insp Mick Carr.
"At this incredibly difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with Daryll's family, and we will continue to help them," he said.
