According to news outlet Myanmar Now, citing a commissioner, Myanmar's junta-appointed election commission will dissolve Aung San Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy Party (NLD) due to alleged election fraud in November.
The decision was taken during a conference with political parties, according to Myanmar Now, which was boycotted by several parties, including the NLD.
Myanmar's army took control on Feb. 1, deposing and imprisoning Aung San Suu Kyi, the elected civilian leader who had struggled for democracy for decades before tentative reforms started a decade ago.
