An Israeli air strike on the western Gaza Strip killed a family of ten early Saturday, according to medics in the Palestinian enclave.

As their war entered its fifth night and US and Arab diplomats sought an end to the bloodshed, Israeli planes resumed air strikes in Gaza early Saturday, and Hamas militants responded by firing rockets into Israel.

At least 12 Palestinians were killed overnight in Gaza, according to Palestinian medics. A woman and her three children were among the dead after their house in a refugee camp was bombed, according to health officials.

According to medical reports, eight children and two women from the Abu Hatab family were killed when a three-story building in the Shati refugee camp collapsed after an Israeli attack.

In northern Gaza, the Israeli military said it struck a Hamas military intelligence facility as well as a range of missile launching sites.

Israeli aircraft, according to the Palestinian religious affairs ministry, demolished a mosque. The army was reviewing the paper, according to a military spokesman.

According to Palestinian medical officials, 132 people have been killed in Gaza since Monday, including 32 children and 21 women, and 950 others have been injured.

A soldier patrolling the Gaza border was among the eight Israelis killed, as were six civilians, including two children, according to Israeli authorities.
