After a seven-hour standoff between demonstrators and Scottish police officers that saw Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon chastise Britain's Home Office, two men arrested by British immigration officials in Glasgow have been released.
A crowd of protesters can be seen cheering as one of the detained men climbs out of a van surrounded by police officers in a video shared on social media.
The men were arrested "in relation to alleged immigration offences," according to the Home Office, and were released on bail.
Nicola Sturgeon, the Scottish First Minister, called the incident "unacceptable," particularly because it occurred in a Muslim neighborhood in the city.
