A businessman was arrested in Puerto Rico on Monday for allegedly shooting and killing a dog on a golf course that had stolen his ball, according to police.
Salil Zaveri, 60, a former Long Island resident, is accused of shooting the dog on Saturday at the well-known Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Resort in coastal Rio Grande.
According to local newspaper El Nuevo Da, he became angry after the dog stole his ball near the 17th hole.
According to the story, Zaveri allegedly pulled out a 9mm gun and shot the animal at least twice in front of several shocked golfers.
"Then, he got to the course and started playing.", siad the prosecutor in the case.
