New York State Bar Association is considering removing Trump's attorney, Rudy Giuliani. The association has decided to launch a "historic" inquiry on Monday.

However, the New York State Bar Association is a voluntary organization; even if Giuliani is expelled he will still be able to practice law. Disbarring an attorney can only be done with the approval of a state court committee.

"We cannot stand idly by and allow those intents on rending the fabric of our democracy to go unchecked," the bar association said in a statement on Monday.

The bar association pointed out Rudy Giuliani's reaction about the Capitol hill incident. "If we're wrong, we will be made fools of, but if we're right, a lot of them will go to jail. Let's have a trial by combat," Rudy Giuliani said about the Capitol Breach incident, according to different media reports.

Giuliani has been a central figure of the team trying to overturn election results in courts.

Giuliani is also the former mayor of the city of New York.
