House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that she would consider the 25th amendment of the Constitution on Friday, without giving any further details on her rationale for doing so.

The 25th amendment provides formal instructions to grant the Vice-President the power to govern in the event that the President dies, is removed, or resigns from office.

"Tomorrow, by the way, come here tomorrow. We're going to talk about the 25th amendment. But not to take our attention away from the issue we have now, "she told reporters at her weekly news conference when she answered a question about the next coronavirus relief package.

When reporters pressed Pelosi for additional insight into the comments, she suggested that it might be about President Donald Trump's diagnosis of coronavirus.

"I don't talk about it today except to tell you, if you want to talk about it, we'll see you tomorrow," she said. "But you take me back to my point, Mr. President, when was the last time you had a negative test before you had a positive test? Why doesn't the White House tell the country the important thing about how this made the White House hotspot? The President tested positive for COVID-19 early Friday morning and spent four days at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center receiving intensive medical treatment.

During his stay, the President's physicians reported receiving therapy, including Remdesivir and Regeneron, as he had a fever, mild symptoms, and a need for additional oxygen. Amid Trump contracting the virus, a memo from the Federal Emergency Management Agency ( FEMA) indicated that 34 White House staff and "other contacts" had been infected with the coronavirus.

Despite Trump's positive virus testing just last week, on Tuesday — the next day after his return from Walter Reed — the president left the White House residential area and spent time in the Oval Office, surrounded by White House staff and top campaign assistants who could have been exposed to Trump's transmission of the disease.

In an interview with Fox Business on Thursday morning, the President noted that he had not been tested recently.

"No, I'm going to be tested very soon, but basically, I'm very clean. They say it's over a period of six, seven days, "said Trump.

However, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that people who have contracted the infection should be isolated for 10 days from the onset of symptoms and report no fever for at least 24 hours without taking fever-reducing medication.

Pelosi also made comments on ABC News' "The View" concerning Trump's coronavirus therapy, as the drugs he used, including steroids, could have impaired his mental abilities as acting president.

"I told my colleagues yesterday that there are those who say that steroids have had an impact on people's thinking. I don't know, but there are those health care providers who say that, "said Pelosi on Wednesday. "Also, if you have coronavirus, it also has an impact."
