The United States conducted a military action in Syria on Monday that resulted in the death of a senior ISIS leader, according to a statement released by US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Tuesday morning.
According to the statement, Khalid Aydd Ahmad al-Jabouri was responsible for the planning and development of ISIS's leadership structure.
The TASS news agency reported last week that Russia had objected to the American-led coalition against ISIS over "provocative actions" by American armed forces in Syria.
CENTCOM stated that no civilians were killed or injured in this operation and that the group "continues to pose a threat to the region and beyond."
