Officials reported that two individuals were shot and several were injured as they fled a North Carolina college homecoming concert starring the rapper Asian Doll on Saturday night.

Officers dispatched to the campus of Livingstone College in Salisbury at 11 p.m. discovered two persons shot and others injured as attendees fled the gunshots, according to a statement released by municipal officials.

The concert's video footage reveals that a brawl broke out while Asian Doll was performing. Then, one or more rounds were fired by an individual who is not a Livingstone student, police and school authorities stated in a joint statement.

A male victim with a gunshot wound was flown to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, where he was in stable condition, according to a text message from city spokesperson Linda McElroy on Sunday afternoon. A female victim with a graze wound was treated at a local hospital and released. She was unable to determine if the victims were adults.

McElroy indicated that no arrests had been made.

The historically Black private school Livingstone is located in Salisbury, approximately 56 kilometers (35 miles) northeast of Charlotte.

Dr. Anthony J. Davis, president of Livingstone, said in a statement that ensuring the mental health of students and evaluating public safety measures to promote a safe atmosphere are the school's top priorities. He stated that the college is assisting the police with their investigation.

Davis stated, "I am saddened that our students, alumni, family members, and friends were exposed to this senseless act of violence."

The incident was not the only weekend-long shooting at a homecoming event. Four persons, including three students, were injured early on Sunday morning at Clark Atlanta University's homecoming when a DJ performed outside the campus library.
