Today, the Ministry of Human Resources (KSM) announced that applications to hire foreign workers would be temporarily suspended from August 15 to August 31.
It will enable a review of foreign worker procedures in light of the Employment (Amendment) Act 2022, which will take effect on September 1, according to a statement from the Ministry of Labor.
The government will soon unveil the new application process for international workers beginning September 1, 2022.
Before or on August 31, 2022, the processing and completion of applications submitted by employers on or before August 14 will be completed.
The Employment (Amendment) Act 2022, passed by Parliament in March, extends maternity leave from 60 to 98 days, restricts the dismissal of pregnant employees, and introduces maternity leave for married male employees.
