The media claimed on Sunday that singer Jennifer Lopez and actor Ben Affleck had tied the knot in Las Vegas, almost two decades after rekindling their relationship.
According to People Magazine, the couple announced their marriage in a newsletter from Lopez that revealed they flew to the desert city in Nevada to obtain a marriage license and were married in a chapel late Saturday night.
"Love is gorgeous. Love is nice. And indeed, love proves to be patient. Twenty years of endurance just what we desired, "Lopez stated in the newsletter, according to the source.
The Los Angeles Times said the newsletter was "Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck," indicating a name change for the award-winning actor.
A spokesperson for Affleck could not be reached for comment immediately. The phones at Lopez's talent agency, Creative Artists Agency, rang unanswered.
Saturday, July 16, was the date on which they received a marriage license from Clark County, according to online records maintained by the county clerk's office.
Lopez took a selfie of herself in bed while wearing a silver wedding band on social media.
Affleck and Lopez, often known as "Bennifer," reunited last year after nearly two decades apart. The couple became engaged in April of this year.
Affleck presented Lopez with a 6.1-carat pink diamond engagement ring in 2002, but they abruptly called off their 2003 wedding and split up a few months later.
