Officials in Saudi Arabia are seizing rainbow-colored clothing and toys from businesses as part of an anti-homosexuality campaign.

A trade ministry official stated in a broadcast on the state-run Al-Ekhbariya news station, "We are giving a tour of items that contradict the Islamic faith and public morals and promote homosexual colors aimed at the younger generation."

"The homosexuality flag can be found in one of Riyadh's markets," a journalist wrote. According to Agence France-Presse, the report stated that the rainbow conveys a "poisoned message" to children and included bows, skirts, caps, and pencil bags among confiscated products.

Saudi Arabia is one of fourteen nations that have banned the new Pixar film Lightyear because one of the notable characters is gay and kisses his wife. This scene has also angered American conservatives.

In the majority-Muslim nation, homosexuality and cross-dressing are banned and punishable by public flogging, life imprisonment, deportation, and death.

The Al-Ekhbariya program did not specify how law enforcement is cracking down on rainbow flags or how many establishments are being examined.
