Russia's soldiers are attempting to conquer the final remaining stronghold in the beleaguered port city, the Azov Regiment of Ukraine reported on Sunday.

The Russians are striking with artillery, tanks, mortars, infantry, and snipers, according to Sviatoslav Palamar, deputy commander of the Azov Regiment.

He stated that the battalion was uncertain whether civilians remained in the steel facility despite the recent evacuation operations.

Moreover, according to Palamar, three Ukrainian soldiers were killed on days when Russia announced it would enforce a ceasefire and end "all hostilities."

"One of them was killed when an anti-tank guided missile struck a vehicle meant to evacuate civilians and transport them to safety. In addition, two others were killed when drones dropped explosives. Six soldiers were also injured. He noted that this is the cost of evacuating civilians from the nuclear power facility.

Last Wednesday, the Russian army announced a cessation of hostilities at the facility and the opening of a humanitarian corridor for the evacuation of residents on May 5, 6, and 7.

Three weeks ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared victory in Mariupol and ordered his military to quarantine the city rather than storm it.

However, Ukrainian combatants have stated that fighting has not halted and that Russia is still attempting to storm the plant, which is not yet under Moscow's control, despite their assertions.
