Sir Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar have been confirmed as Glastonbury 2022 headliners.
This June, the Beatles legacy and 34-year-old hip-hop megastar are slated to perform at Worthy Farm alongside Friday night headliner Billie Eilish and Diana Ross. She has earned the Sunday afternoon legend's slot.
On Saturday, June 25, McCartney - who last performed in 2004 - will headline the Pyramid Stage.
The singer was scheduled to appear in 2020. However, the concert was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"When he finally confirmed, we were ecstatic," organizer Emily Eavis told the BBC.
"Having Paul McCartney is undoubtedly a dream come true for us, a watershed point in our history. It means the world to secure Paul McCartney's attendance at Glastonbury."
McCartney, who will be 80 when he performs at the world-famous event, attempted to confirm his headline position lately with a Wordle puzzle.
On Sunday, June 26, Kendrick will headline.
Olivia Rodrigo, Lorde, Megan The Stallion, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Wolf Alice, Years and Years, Charli XCX, Crowded House, Celeste, Arlo Parks, Doja Cat, and Haim were also included in the initial line-up announcement.
Diana, who first gained prominence as a member of The Supremes, has previously stated her enthusiasm for performing at Glastonbury.
"I'm overjoyed and grateful to finally know that I'll be seeing you at #Glastonbury as part of my UK Thank U Tour in support of my new album of songs!" she tweeted. We'll see you on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at @glastonbury. #dianarossthankyou (sic)" [stars emoji]
Diana was scheduled to make her festival debut in 2020. However, her appearance was canceled owing to the coronavirus outbreak.
She is now scheduled to play on the Pyramid Stage in front of one of the largest crowds at the event.
Eavis also announced that the festival, in collaboration with WaterAid, Oxfam, and Greenpeace, will raise funds for the Red Cross Ukraine appeal.
Glastonbury is held between June 22 and June 26 in Somerset.
