Netflix does not appear to be the only firm that will raise its internet service costs in 2022. During Amazon's Q4 2021 fiscal results presentation, the business disclosed that Amazon Prime subscription pricing in the United States will be raised soon.
According to the firm (via Engadget), the cost of becoming an Amazon Prime member in the United States will rise from $12.99 to $14.99 per month. Those who choose a yearly membership will now pay $139 instead of $119, a 16 percent increase in pricing.
New customers will see the pricing adjustment on February 18, 2022, while existing Prime members will see their plans adjusted after March 25, 2022.
This is the first time Amazon has raised the price of a Prime membership since 2018.
This, according to the corporation, is due to a rise in the number of perks included in the package, as well as higher staff compensation and higher shipping expenses and labor expenses
It's unclear if Amazon will raise Prime subscription fees in other nations as well.
