Thailand will resume its "Test and Go" program, which allows for quarantine-free travel for vaccinated passengers, on Feb 1, 2022.
"Test and Go" to resume from Feb 1
This comes after Thailand reinstated a required quarantine period of seven to ten days for all entering guests on Dec 21, 2021, to contain the country's spread of Omicron Covid-19 infections.
All sandbox schemes, except Phuket's, have likewise been suspended.
According to Reuters, this has resulted in a stabilization of Thailand's daily caseloads.
Travelers of all countries must submit to two Covid-19 tests, once upon arrival and again on the fifth day, as part of the "Test and Go" program.
Additionally, travelers must stay in approved hotels on both test dates and present booking evidence.
According to Bloomberg, applications for quarantine-free visas will open on Feb 1.
Additional "Sandbox" programs are being announced.
Additionally, CNA reports that the "Sandbox" initiative will include additional regions.
According to Thaiger, this comprises Ko Chang, Pattaya, Koh Sichang, Na Chom Tian, and Bang Sare and the existing Phuket, Krabi, Phan-Nga, and Surat Thani zones as of Jan 11, 2021.
Under the "Sandbox" program, vaccinated passengers are permitted to enter the designated location without being quarantined and wander freely outside their lodging.
However, for seven days, travelers' movements are severely restricted to the designated territory. Additionally, they must stay in approved hotels within the area before traveling to other locations.
