At least seven people were murdered, and four more were injured when a car bearing a Serbian license plate collided with a house in Hungary.
The driver noticed police checking cars in the town of Morahalom near the Serbian border and attempted to flee, police-reported MTI, a Hungarian news agency, on Tuesday.
The car carrying ten migrants smashed into a house and flipped over on Monday.
According to police, the driver, who was injured, has been apprehended, and charges have been filed against him for human trafficking and causing a fatal mass accident.
Western Europe Corridor
Hungary is prepared to establish a corridor for migrants seeking to reach western Europe, the country's prime minister announced last month.
Viktor Orban stated that Hungary will not modify its attitude on the matter and is prepared to offer a corridor for refugees to travel to Austria, Germany, and even Sweden. Still, Hungary rejects Brussels' attempt to impose its will on Hungary.
Orban stated that Budapest fortified its borders in 2015 to deter migrants from entering and that Greece, Bulgaria, Spain, Slovenia, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland followed suit.
He said that migration had increased significantly, with 92,000 unlawful border crossings halted between January 1 and October.
He stated that the amount would be 21,000 for the same period in 2020.
