According to Yonhap News, Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Jay Y. Lee traveled Sunday for Canada and the United States on his first abroad business trip since his release in August.
According to Yonhap, Samsung's de-facto CEO told reporters at an airport that he will meet with "a number of partners" in the United States. While it's unknown what Lee will do on his first business trip to the country in five years, he may visit Samsung's chip facility in Austin, Texas, amid a semiconductor scarcity, and may finalize the location for the company's new U.S. chip plant, according to the story.
Lee will also pay a visit to Moderna Inc.'s headquarters in Boston. The Moderna is manufactured by Samsung Biologics Co.
