After four people perished in the Aegean Sea, Greece has asked that Turkey do more to prevent migrants and people smugglers from setting sail.

A dinghy conveying migrants from the Turkish shore sank near the Greek island of Chios on Tuesday, killing three youngsters and a mother, according to Greek authorities.

The Greek coastguard stated that another 22 persons — 14 men, seven women, and a child – were saved from the sinking boat that had set off in high weather.

The rescue mission included three helicopters, two coastguard ships, and at least six private boats.

Initial reports said the victims were all youngsters, but that was later changed to three girls and a woman, according to a tweet by Migration Minister Notis Mitarachi.
