According to the Syrian Defense Ministry, one Syrian soldier was killed and three others were injured in an Israeli airstrike on Syria's Palmyra region in the province of Homs on Wednesday evening.
The incident occurred at 23:34 local time (2034 GMT), targeted a communications tower, and resulted in some material damages, according to a brief statement on the organization's Facebook page.
The event occurred just days after Syrian state media stated that Syrian air defenses intercepted an Israeli missile assault above the Homs countryside, injuring six Syrian soldiers and caused minor damage.
For several years, Israel has launched assaults on what it has characterized as Iranian-linked sites in Syria, where Tehran-backed forces, notably Lebanon's Hezbollah, have established a foothold since deploying to assist President Bashar al-Assad in the Syrian crisis that started in 2011.
