According to the Central Election Commission, the United Russia party received 46.17 percent of the vote in Russia's parliamentary elections, with 50.69 percent of the results processed.
With 21.36 percent of the vote, the Communist Party finishes in second, followed by the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) with 8.07 percent, A Just Russia with 7.62 percent, and New People with 5.96 percent.
The seventh Russian State Duma (lower house of parliament) was held on September 17, 18, and 19. A total of 14 political parties ran in the elections. Aside from the State Duma elections, voters also chose the heads of nine Russian regions and 39 regional legislatures.
