According to Ali Nazari, the Taliban is carrying out ethnic cleansing in Panjshir province, a spokesman for the Afghan National Resistance Front. He called on the international community to help.
Thousands of people have been driven out of Panjshir by the Taliban. They are committing ethnic cleansing, and the rest of the world is watching and ignoring it,” Nazari wrote on Twitter. He went on to say, "We call on the international community to put an end to these war crimes."
Kabir Wasik, an Afghan journalist and the province's deputy governor had previously reported on Panjshir's mass executions and clean-up activities.
“The Taliban are killing civilians, including children, for no apparent reason, which is a war crime and a crime against humanity. They are examining the houses of influential citizens, village officials, mules, and lawyers, putting the population under much psychological pressure. There are frequent threats of murder and arrest. Wasik remarked.
Following the takeover of the Panjshir Valley, which is home to the National Resistance Front, which opposes the Taliban, Taliban officials stated on Monday that they had taken control of the entire country. The resistance front's representatives claim they are still in the valley.
Ahmad Masood, the son of Ahmad Shah Masood, is the National Resistance Front's commander.
Panjshir Province, 70 kilometers north of Kabul, is strategically important since it connects Afghanistan's southern and northern parts. The geography of the province and the gorge of the same name found within it are ideal for guerilla warfare.
Afghanistan's current status
On August 31, US forces exited Afghanistan after a 20-year stay. According to US President Joe Biden, the US has accomplished what it set out to do: eradicate al Qaeda, the terrorist organization responsible for the 9/11 attacks, and prevent Afghanistan from becoming a terrorist hotspot.
His words don't jibe with reality. According to a US intelligence estimate, at least 20 small terrorist groups are currently active in Afghanistan, many of which have become radicalized in the last 20 years due to foreign intervention. According to many sources, al-Qaeda terrorists are joining the Taliban, and the Islamic State is planning to establish a presence in Afghanistan.
The same US analysis predicted Kabul's collapse in six months, but the US president had hidden this information. He worked hard to persuade the public that there was no such alternative in front of Afghanistan, citing the Asian country's thousands of troops and equipment. Despite Joe Biden's "optimism," the Taliban grabbed control of practically the whole nation and entered Kabul in less than a month. Former President Ashraf Ghani has left Afghanistan.
There is currently just one territory in Afghanistan that the Taliban have not seized, the Panjshir province. Anti-Taliban forces and Afghan soldiers have taken up positions in the area. Ahmad Massoud is the leader of the anti-Taliban coalition.
