On Tuesday, police said that armed burglars stormed a Bulgari store in Paris's famed Place Vendome, stealing 10 million euros ($11.84 million) in jewelry.
Three men dressed in fine suits and weapons looted the recently restored business on the central Paris plaza where the Ritz is located shortly before noon. The three made their getaway in a sedan, while four other suspects fled on motorcycles.
Two of the three had to get out of their automobile and flee before being apprehended by the police, who were after them.
Bulgari did not respond to a request for comment right away.
LVMH, the French billionaire Bernard Arnault's company, owns the store.
In the last few months, there have been several robberies at jewelry stores in Paris.
In next year's presidential elections, voters' main concerns are likely to be security and crime.
