Camila Cabello has spoken publicly about her debilitating anxiety and how lockdown helped her get better.
As she tried to deal with the strain and anxiety of celebrity, as well as her demanding work schedule, the 24-year-old chart-topping star claims she felt like she had a "broken leg."
Last year, when the world was put on lockdown owing to the still-emerging Covid-19 outbreak, the Senorita singer says she was finally able to catch her breath – and assess the impact her frenetic lifestyle was having on her mental health.
Camila, who has charted on both sides of the Atlantic and is dating Shawn Mendes, a 23-year-old Canadian pop star, says she is now more willing to say "no" to professional stressors.
“Before lockdown, I was burned out,” the actress told The Sun on Sunday. I was suffering from a severe case of anxiousness. It was excessive, and it could not be sustained. I felt as if I were jogging with a broken leg, but I wasn't paying attention to how I was feeling.”
Camila went on to say that, despite being exhausted by her job, she felt like she "should" be alright, and that she failed to gauge how she genuinely felt about herself.
“The pandemic gave me that pause to say, ‘Let's not keep running on this broken leg, let's fix it,'” she continued.
“There have been many times in the past when I was working and not at home, not having time for relationships, not having time to be healthy and happy — just working nonstop and not feeling well but doing it anyway.”
“That is something I would never do now,” she continued. "If I ever felt that way again, I'd simply say, Sorry, guys."
Cinderella is portrayed as an ambitious clothing designer rather than a housemaid at the mercy of her evil stepmother in the film, which was published on Amazon last week.
The conventional ‘fairy godmother' persona is renamed as a ‘Fabulous Godmother' and performed by Pose actor Billy Porter.
Cinderella's stepmother Vivian is played by Broadway icon Idina Menzel, the Queen and King are played by Minnie Driver and Pierce Brosnan, and Prince Robert is played by up-and-coming actor Nicholas Galitzine.
