Joe Rogan, a well-known American podcaster, has tested positive for Covid-19.
Rogan, a stand-up comedian who previously sparked outrage by proposing that the young and healthy should not be vaccinated, said he became unwell after returning from a gig in Florida, which is a virus hotbed.
The 54-year-old stated he was suffering from a headache and was feeling "very tired" and "run down."
Rogan notified his 13.1 million Instagram followers that he had isolated himself from his family and had had a positive Covid test.
He said he was given a variety of drugs, including monoclonal antibodies and the steroid prednisone, to treat his condition.
Rogan was also given a “vitamin drip” and ivermectin, a veterinary deworming treatment, according to him.
Rogan expressed his gratitude to contemporary treatment, saying, "A wonderful heartfelt thank you to modern medicine for pulling me out of this so quickly and easily."
The comedian has been on the road with his show Joe Rogan: The Sacred Clown Tour and was set to appear in Nashville, Tennessee on Friday with fellow comedian Dave Chappelle, but claimed the concert had been rescheduled for October.
Rogan is one of the most popular and best podcasters in the world.
Spotify reportedly paid more than $100 million (£77 million) to acquire The Joe Rogan Experience in 2020.
