During a morning queuing of Saudi coalition forces on Sunday, three ballistic missiles were fired at Al Anad Air Base in Lahij Governorate, southern Yemen. No formal statement has been released yet, and no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
The death toll from the rocket and drone strikes on the Al Anad Air Base had increased to 30 minutes before, according to the Reuters news agency and certain Arab media sources.
The news was also broadcast on Sky News. A Yemeni military spokesman was quoted by Arab media as reporting that 30 people had been killed and 60 others injured so far in the strikes.
At least two military soldiers were killed and 19 others were injured in the attack, according to Crater Sky, and the wounded were brought to Ibn Khaldun Hospital for treatment.
The sound of loud explosions has been reported by local people.
According to local news sources, UAVs and missiles were utilized in the attack on the military base on Sunday.
The incident comes as part of the US military has lately relocated from Afghanistan to southern Yemen.
According to the Yemen Press Agency, some US troops who had departed Afghanistan arrived at Aden Airport in southern Yemen and were transferred to the governorate of Lahij.
In July, the US moved dozens of military vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles, and Patriot systems to the Al Anad base.
