The Japanese Defense Ministry said on Wednesday that Japan and the United Kingdom have conducted a combined naval drill in the Pacific Ocean.
According to Tokyo-based Kyodo News, the military drill was held on Tuesday and was attended by US and Dutch naval vessels escorting the British navy's strike force.
Joint military exercises are considered as a means of countering China's growing military and economic clout in the Asia-Pacific region.
