The 49-year-old actor, who portrayed Cam on the sitcom, took to social media to tell he had proposed to Lindsay Schweitzer with a series of photos.
He joked that she didn't quite say "yes" without allowing his comedic demeanor to go.
"She said, 'She’d have her people call my people.'" Eric told his 2.2 million Instagram followers alongside the trio of photographs revealing the gorgeous ring.
While the photographs show Lindsay beaming with delight as she holds up her gorgeous oval-shaped ring, Eric makes a series of amusing faces to commemorate the happy event.
In one, he appears to be worried about the announcement, while in another, he is giddy with delight.
Several well-known friends and followers congratulated him in the post's comments section.
"Congrats you beautiful couple," Michael Buble added, before adding a series of heart emojis.
"Congratulations!!!!" said Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, star of Hot Pursuit.
Bobbi Brown, the makeup entrepreneur, was also on hand to tease her role on the wedding day, writing: "I'll be there to assist the bride with her preparations. And then there's the groom."
Eric and pediatric nurse Lindsay met at a charity event in the summer of 2016 and began dating, according to People.
During an interview with Ellen DeGeneres in September 2017, the actor discussed his relationship.
Lindsay being a nurse, Ellen said, is fortunate because Eric is a hypochondriac. "I'm a big baby, too!" said the two-time Emmy winner.
He said, "She makes me feel at ease. My nerves are calmed by her! I'm a high-strung individual."
In a prior interview with Ellen, he said that he had tried his luck with dating apps.
"Now that I've done Bumble and tried this other one," he explained in 2016. "The way I justify it, Ellen, is that just because I'm on TV, I shouldn't be excluded from participating in what's going on in the world."
