Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan exchanged views with German Chancellor Angela Merkel over the rapidly changing situation in Afghanistan.
Afghanistan has been through an unprecedented change in the last few days as the US intelligence report said it would take more than a month for the Taliban to take over the country.
Pakistan Prime Minister issued a statement about the telephone call through the official page on Facebook.
The statement said, Imran Khan stressed that there requires stability in Afghanistan for the security of the region. "The Prime Minister also stressed that safety and security, as well as protection of the rights of all Afghans, was critically important," the statement read.
Khan also clarified that he is reaching out to the Afghab leaders. "The international community must also stay engaged, particularly to support the people of Afghanistan economically," he said.
"The Inclusive political settlement is the best way forward," he added.
Khan also added that Pakistan was facilitating the evacuation of diplomatic personnel and staff of international organizations from Afghanistan.
The leaders also talked about bilateral co-operations between the countries. Khan said that he looks forward to enhancing collaboration with Germany.
