The main event of the global sports will be ending today as the closing ceremony for Tokyo 2020 is taking place today.

The USA edges by a medal and becomes leader at the table tally with 39 golds, just ahead of China. The US also became the team with the most medals with 118 medals while China remained second there too with 88 medals. 

The Host nations Japan Came third in the medal tally with 27 gold while Great Britain had 22 and the Russian Olympic Committee had 20.

Russia wasn't participating in this year's Olympics due to the suspension following doping accusations, and involvement. However, Russian Players participated in the games as Olympic Committee instead of representing the nation.

The Olympics took place between the 23rd of July and the 8th of August. 

The conduction of the Olympics has been criticized by the Japanese saying that the games increased the movement which caused the pandemic to escalate. 

Capital City Tokyo is under a state of emergency which will be ending on August 22.
