Following a domestic dispute, Dizzee Rascal, the award-winning rapper and producer whose real name is Dylan Mills, was charged with assaulting a lady.
“Dylan Mills, 36, of Sevenoaks, Kent, has been charged with assault following an incident at a residential address in Streatham on 8 June,” the Metropolitan Police said in a statement. Officers arrived and discovered a woman with minor injuries. She didn't need to go to the hospital.”
Mills is scheduled to appear in Croydon magistrates court on Friday, September 3rd, while on bail.
Mills, a grime music pioneer, debuted at the age of 18 with his debut, Boy in da Corner, in 2003.
For his fourth album, Tongue N'Cheek, he hooked up with Calvin Harris and embraced EDM, producing a streak of No. 1 hit, including Dance Wiv Me and Bonkers, which helped him establish himself as one of Britain's most popular talents. He performed at the London 2012 Olympic Games' opening ceremony.
Mills, who runs his own record label, Dirtee Stank, was granted an MBE for services to music in the Queen's Birthday Honours in 2020.
