In the City of Karachi in Pakistan, Hospitality workers rallied in the streets protesting the Lockdown measures after the state government imposed partial restrictions to control the spread of the COVID-19.
The State of Sindh imposed partial lockdown, which is due to end on August 8. The lockdown will restrict inter-city travel and indoor and outdoor gatherings.
The Hotel and the restaurant staff joined the protests in the state capital demanding an end to the lockdown and carrying banners and chanting slogans.
Muhammad Khan, a local restaurant owner who was protesting in the street said, "There are more than 35 thousand hotels in Karachi. We are unemployed now, 10 to 15 work in every hotel now. How will we pay them a salary? It's more than two years now, people are fed up."
The other at the protest Qamar Ahmed, who is the leader of the Pak Sarzameen Party, said, "I would request to Prime Minister that for God's sake please save Karachi from destruction."
