Japan grants asylum for Myanmar Footballer who applied for a refugee status

The Japanese government has granted asylum to Myanmar who had submitted the refugee application.

The Myanmar Nationa team goalkeeper, Pyae Lyan Aung, had sought asylum in Japan amid the crisis in the homeland.

Myanmar is under civil war after the Myanmar Military took over the power in the country through a military coup. 

The Junta government in Myanmar, since then, has killed almost a thousand people and has captivated more than 2,000.

The Myanmar Goalie had come to Japan for Participating in the World Cup Qualifiers. The player has been moved to Yokohama, from his previous base at Osaka.

He will be joining the "YSCC Yokohama" club as a trainee.

"The level of soccer in Japan is high, but I want to do my best to practice in Yokohama," he said heading towards Yokohama.

After refusing to return to Myanmar in June, he was living in Osaka.

"I was surprised that many Japanese people helped me. I am very grateful," he said.
