Police stated on Tuesday that the 22-year-old daughter of former Pakistani Ambassador to South Korea Shaukat Ali Mukadam was discovered shot to death in Islamabad.
Noor Mukadam was allegedly assassinated by suspect Zahir Jaffer, the son of a prominent businessman.
An investigation has been begun by the police.
According to the first claims that could not be independently corroborated, Mukadam had left home and was with Mr. Jaffer.
Mukadam hadn't spoken to her father since the morning of Monday.
Mr. Jaffer is a US citizen, according to Islamabad police, who had booked a trip to the US on Wednesday. This could be evidence of premeditated murder and an attempt to elude prosecution, according to police.
On Twitter, Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri extended his sympathies to Mr. Mukadam, using the hashtag #JusticeForNoor.
