According to a media source, a speeding bus overturned on a highway in central Pakistan on Monday, killing at least 28 passengers and wounding 40 others.
“The bus had left the city of Sialkot and was traveling on Taunsa Road, with its destination being the city of Dera Ghazi Khan in Punjab province,” police and rescue authorities said.
“The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation,” senior police officer Hassan Javed said. The deceased and injured were taken to a local hospital by rescuers.”
According to Sher Khan, who led the rescue crew on the scene, some of the injured were in critical condition. He explained that the passengers were on their way to Rajanpur, their hometown, to celebrate the impending Eid Al Adha feast.
