The 36-year-old actress has played Natasha Romanoff and her superhero alter-ego Black Widow in multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films, and she recently landed her own standalone film after the release of the eponymously titled "Black Widow" on Wednesday (07.07.21).
Scarlett has said she doesn't think she'll ever reprise the part now that she has her own film.
"[I have] no plans to return as [Black Widow]," she told Fatherly. "This flick has left me quite satisfied. It feels like a fantastic way to end this chapter of my Marvel career."
Scarlett still wants to work for Marvel in a behind-the-scenes capacity.
"I'd love to be able to collaborate with Marvel in other ways," she continued, "because I think there's just an incredible wealth of stories there." I'm interested in seeing how this genre may be reimagined.
"I believe there are many different ways to tell these stories than audiences have come to expect."
Meanwhile, Scarlett recently said that she has kept "every suit" she's ever worn in a Marvel film, and joked that her contract requires her to be able to take her superhero costume home.
She explained, "I have every suit, and I believe it's in my contract, but I don't even know what's in my contract at this point because it's been so long, so I'm like, "Don't forget to wrap up my outfit!"."
Scarlett also claimed that her character has become so well-known that people refer to her as Black Widow on the street.
“Now if I'm walking down the street, people scream Black Widow at me, which is so funny, so you go, ‘Oh yeah, I guess the movies coming out,' and apparently the marketing and advertising is working because it's on people's minds; they're not screaming out my character's name from ‘Under The Skin,'” she continued.
