Tesla started to remember the safety danger associated with the cruise control feature of the car in China on Saturday, with over 295,000 vehicles.

According to the Chinese State Market Regulation Administration, the cruise control system in some models can be engaged when drivers attempt to change gears or accidentally touch the equipment selector to accelerate inadvertently.

Remember that 35.665 automobiles imported from Model 3 and 249.855 Model 3 and Model Y were manufactured at Tesla's Shanghai plant. Vehicles shall not be returned by customers. Instead, a free software update is provided to remedy the problem either remotely or personally.

In a statement published on its web account, one of China's most popular social networking platforms, Tesla apologized for the recall on Saturday. In line with China's safety laws, Tesla stated that it will continue to improve.

"We apologize to our automobile owners for any inconvenience. Meanwhile, Tesla carefully adheres to the national standards and continues to improve our security, giving our customers an outstanding and safe driving experience," Automaker said.

For Tesla, China has shown itself to be a tough market. Five Chinese regulatory bodies questioned the quality of its Model 3 vehicles built in Shanghai.

According to numbers published by the China Passenger Car Association, the electric car leader sold fewer than 26,000 cars in China in April, down 27% from March.

The reduction was observed by Chinese makers of electric cars like Nio (NIO), Xpeng, and Li Auto.
