The Indian Air Force has stated that the Jammu Air Force Station's technical area detected two low-intensity explosions early Sunday morning. Sources indicated that planes and other equipment are safe, although two persons had severe injuries.
On Sunday morning, Jammu Sources told Sputnik that two drones had been utilized to carry on an attack at the Indian Air Force Station in Jammu. They added that the low-intensity blasts are likely to be caused by IEDs dropped by quadcopter drones. This is the first of its type on every airbase in the country, including the Jammu and Kashmir insurgency areas.
The Minister for Defense of India, Rajnath Singh, addressed the matter to Vice Air Chief H.S. Arora. Air Marshal Vikram Singh, the minister notified Jammu of this circumstance. The Minister took stock.
Sources have also excluded the idea of throwing a grenade from outside. Defense sources claimed the explosion site is far from the outer perimeter wall and from the launching grenade area.
In February of this year, India and Pakistan signed an agreement to suspend the firing at the border, including the checkline (LoC).
Since 1947 there has been a dispute about Jammu and Kashmir. New Delhi claims sovereignty over the whole region of Jammu and Kashmir, now split by the Indian-Pakistan Line of Control.
